The Gedelma plane is the thickest of the monument trees the directorate records in Antalya province: 4.29 metres across, 28.6 metres tall and given as 684 years old. It is an oriental plane, Platanus orientalis, declared a natural monument on 6 May 2003 on 0.10 hectares, and the directorate calls it simply a mighty tree.
Its page is not consistent about whether it can be visited. It lists a capacity of 50 visitors and 10 vehicles and hours of 08:30 to 17:00, and describes a route there by private car; but its activities line says the region the tree stands in is a nature conservation area used only for scientific research — a sentence that appears word for word on the pages of the monument trees inside Çığlıkara, in a different district. Which of the two applies is not resolved on the page.
There are no facilities at the site. Size, age and extreme growth are the stated reasons for protection.
The tree is in Kemer district, and the page gives the place two ways round: as the Gedelme quarter at the Kuzdere locality, and as the Kuzdere quarter at the Gedelma locality. The route runs from Antalya to Kemer and on by private car through Kuzdere.
