Trapezapolis lies at the Boludüzü locality near Bekirler village in Babadağ district, Denizli, on flat ground running north to south; the provincial directorate says the city was laid out to follow the shape of the land.
What can be seen is what lies on the surface: some building remains are visible there, and it is those surface remains that show Roman and Byzantine characteristics. The page describes no excavation and gives no date for the city's founding.
