Rabat castle is in ruins, and only a very small part of it has come down to the present. It stands on a single mass of rock about eight kilometres north of Yanikkaya — the village also called Rabat — which is itself 18 kilometres north of the Kozluk district of Batman.
Almost nothing is established about it. No inscription giving the date of building has been found on it, and the district governorate states that no information about the castle has yet been met with in the sources either. In plan, material and building technique it shows the features of the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, and it is estimated to have been repaired and used in later periods.
