As in Hatay and Kahramanmaraş, the 2023 earthquakes affected this province, and our sources do not record the present condition of what is listed here. Check before travelling.
Arslantepe, the mound that is the province's best-known site, is on the list, and around the city are the Beşkonaklar ethnography museum, the Atatürk memorial house, the radio and gramophone museum and the Beydağı nature park — all of them within a few kilometres of one another.
The rest spreads across the province: the Old Malatya Great Mosque at Battalgazi to the north, the Sultansuyu stud farm at Akçadağ to the west, and at Darende, furthest of all, the Somuncu Baba mosque and tomb with the Tohma canyon beside it.
