Şemdinli, in the far southeast, holds the Nehri stone bridge and the Kayme palace, close together. From there the province opens northwest.
Around the provincial capital are the Cennet Cehennem valley, the Zap river valley, the Berçelan plateau, the Meydan medrese and the Ava Ore waterfall, all within reach of the city; the Kaval waterfall and the stone houses at Çukurca lie southwest.
