The Uzungöl Dursun Ali İnan Museum stands in the town of Uzungöl in the Çaykara district of Trabzon, ninety kilometres from the city, on a site of about 4,000 square metres.
Dursun Ali İnan founded it to display the objects he had been gathering for some thirty years, saying that this had been his greatest wish and that he believes the museum will matter a great deal in future for Trabzon and the Black Sea.
The museum has three main parts: a wooden Uzungöl house built in keeping with the local architecture; the local and archaeological works İnan collected over thirty years, together with the sculptures and furniture he made from tree roots gathered in the wild; and written and visual material on the history, culture, geography, fauna, flora and social life of Uzungöl.
