Torkul is a natural pond formed by a volcanic collapse, sitting at 1,251 metres inside the highland pasture of the same name, in the Uğur village of central Düzce, 34 kilometres from the city. The water covers about 5,000 square metres and the site as a whole 78,801.
Beech, fir, hornbeam, chestnut, maple and black pine stand around it. The provincial directorate lists what the place is used for: picnicking, angling, photography, tent camping, and a six-kilometre walk between the Torkul and Odayeri pastures.
