The Samandere falls are a registered natural monument of 10.19 hectares at Samandere village in the central district of Düzce. The source gives the registration date twice and differently — 1988 in the text and 1998 in the data field.
Around the falls are cascades, plunge pools and the rock hollows called witches' cauldrons, with rich untouched plant cover and monumental trees here and there. The water joins the Uğursuyu, reaches Lake Efteni, and from there joins the Büyük Melen to run into the Black Sea through Akçakoca. The falls are 24 kilometres from Düzce, 15 from the Beyköy township, 20 from the TEM motorway and 26 from the D-100 road; from Düzce take the ring road south to Beyköy and carry on south to Samandere. It is open 08:00 to 20:00, with capacity for 90 visitors and 30 vehicles.
