The Tokat City Museum sets out the long history of the town and the cultural life built on it, with the art and craft work of the province among the things on show.
It was built by Tokat Municipality with support from the Middle Black Sea Development Agency and opened with a public ceremony. The provincial account of the opening gives no description of the display rooms themselves.
