The Peace and Freedom Park on the reclaimed shore at Süleymanpaşa, Tekirdağ, was redesigned for the Turkish-Hungarian Cultural Year in 2024 and reopened as the Turkish-Hungarian Friendship Park. The place has a reason for its name: this is where Ferenc Rakoczi II came ashore at Tekirdağ, and the park was laid out again with elements representing the friendship between the two countries.
At the lower entrance a 70-square-metre space was created for the 2024 Cultural Year exhibition, where 38 photographs set out stories of Turkish-Hungarian friendship, with a further 35-square-metre section alongside showing the Hungarian Parliament and the Chain Bridge in Budapest. Behind the statue of Ferenc Rakoczi II is an amphitheatre for performances, and there are children's playgrounds. The park is reachable by public transport or car.
