The Köroğlu waterfall lies in the forests of the Dörtdivan district of Bolu, off the Dörtdivan-Kartalkaya road where it turns towards the Köroğlu tourism area, at Cetikoren. It is named after Köroğlu, the legendary folk hero of Bolu and its region. The water falls over a rocky face into thick woodland, and the flow is strongest, and the fall at its most impressive, in spring and early summer.
Two practical points. You need a four-wheel-drive vehicle to reach it, and in winter there is no access at all. The surrounding area is the Köroğlu range, so the trip can be combined with the yaylas, forest tracks and other country around it, which is why walkers, campers and photographers are the people who mostly come here.
