Darkaya falls drop between high rocks in the Dörtdivan district of Bolu, 36 kilometres from the district centre and 85 from Bolu itself. The water runs strongest in spring and summer, when the snowmelt reaches it.
Thick forest and clean mountain air surround the falls, and the provincial directorate points to walking, photography and watching wildlife as what the area is suited to.
