Four stinking junipers at Kayı village in Mihalıççık district, Eskişehir province, were all registered as natural monuments on the same day, 4 April 2001 — three of them numbered I, II and III, and a fourth listed simply as Kayı Ardıcı. This is the first, estimated at 665 years old and 11 metres tall, on 0.02 hectares — the largest protected plot of the four, and the one with the smallest stated capacity, 10 visitors.
Every monument-tree page the Eskişehir directorate publishes gives the trunk diameter as exactly 1.30 metres — this juniper, its two neighbours, both of the province's protected oaks and the hazel at Karageyikli alike, whatever their species, age or height. A figure repeated identically across trees that differ in every other respect is not a measurement of any one of them, so it should not be relied on.
The tree grows on mid-slope ground under the inner Anatolian climate, and its general appearance is recorded as well-formed. Opening hours are 08:00 to 18:00, with room for one vehicle.
Kayı village is 83 kilometres from Eskişehir, and the tree stands on the main road through it.
