The Koca cedar stands at the Alıçalanı locality in the Göltarla neighbourhood of the Elmalı district of Antalya. The area around it is the Cedar Research Forest and is used only for scientific research.
The tree is around 900 years old, 32.5 metres tall and 2.29 metres in diameter. Its size, age and exceptional growth are the reasons given for its protection, and there are no facilities on the site.
The route runs first to Elmalı and then by private vehicle to the Göltarla neighbourhood and the Alıçalanı locality.
