Çığlıkara Nature Conservation Area is closed. The Directorate General of Nature Conservation and National Parks states that entry and exit are prohibited by virtue of the protection status, that access is possible only with special permission for educational purposes, and that because the area is used solely for science and education, no activity of any kind takes place there. There are no facilities.
It is one of the largest protected areas of its category in Türkiye. The declaration date is given as 4 July 1991 in the area record and 5 July 1991 in the text, and the size as 15,889 hectares in the record and 15,564.24 in the text. The area is centred on Elmalı district of Antalya province and extends into Finike and Kaş.
Cedar is the tree the area is known for, growing with juniper, maquis, kermes oak, red pine, Grecian juniper and stinking juniper; the directorate leaves its plant list unfinished.
Its animal list is left unfinished too, but begins with the endemic Anatolian viper, Vipera anatolica, and continues with lynx, caracal, wild boar, brown hare, imperial eagle, lesser spotted eagle and the Krüper's nuthatch.
