The way up to this castle is by stairs that are largely worn away. It stands on a hill at Kale village, 20 kilometres east of the Mazgirt district centre in Tunceli.
Beside the entrance most of the cuneiform inscriptions are still in place. The gateway and the inner parts were made by cutting into the rock, and there is a large cistern inside. A passage 30 to 40 metres long runs down towards the foot of the rock the castle stands on, most of it now filled with stone and earth. The source does not say who built it or when.
