The Mikasanomiya Memorial Garden at Kaman, in Kırşehir province, was made in memory of Prince Mikasa and opened in 1993 with the prince himself present; the Ministry describes it as the largest Japanese garden outside Japan. It stands immediately beside the Kalehöyük Archaeological Museum, so the two are naturally visited together.
In the garden are an artificial waterfall, two artificial ponds holding koi brought from Japan, a Japanese lantern and an example of Buddhist temple architecture, and artificial hillocks. The planting sets Japanese trees and plants — Japanese cherry, weeping willow, apple, plum and quince — alongside native trees and plants. The garden is at Cagirkan in Kaman.
