A Gaziantep marriage, laid out room by room through a traditional house: that is what this museum, which the municipality also calls the Hasan Süzer Marriage and Living Culture Museum, is arranged to show. The customs surrounding betrothal and wedding, the social life and the family structure they belonged to are the subject, and the house itself — kept in its traditional form — supplies the plan.
The route runs upward. In the basement is a cave section. The ground floor holds rooms on marriage through history, the kitchen, and the visits between the two families that begin the process. On the first floor come the dining, coffee and wedding rooms; on the second, the rooms of charms and ritual, the bath, and the trousseau. In a separate building in the courtyard, one room is given to the life of Hasan Süzer, the Gaziantep philanthropist the museum is named for.
The building was restored and fitted out by Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality in cooperation with the Süzer family; work began in 2025 and the museum opened on 9 May 2026.
