The marks of the defence of Antep are still on this mosque: bullet wounds can be seen on the building and on its minaret, and the source reads them as evidence that it came through the fighting.
Documents show that it was built by a carpenter named Ali. The date 1213 in the Hijri calendar is written on the stair leading up to the muezzin's gallery, and it is agreed that this is the date of a repair rather than of the building. The mosque is on Kepkep Sokak in the Yaprak quarter, on the left bank of the Alleben stream, within walking distance.
