Çilingoz Nature Park lies in the town of Binkılıç in Çatalca, on the Black Sea coast north-west of İstanbul. It was established in 2011 and covers 1,775 hectares. Because of its rich plant and animal life the area was declared a wildlife protection area in 2005, and hunting there is permanently forbidden.
The park sits on a bay where beach, forest, lake and reed bed come together. On its northern side is a beach of fine sand 1,200 metres long and eighty metres wide. The Çilingoz stream runs north towards the Black Sea, forming a narrow sandy and alluvial mouth and widening into a large lake ringed by reeds.
The woodland is mostly oriental beech, oriental alder, hornbeam and Türkiye oak. The shrubs include pontic rhododendron, butcher's broom, myrtle, bay laurel, tree heath, strawberry tree, bramble and pampas grass. On the sandy ground grow field eryngo, dyer's alkanet and golden-flowered onosma.
A good many birds live in the park, among them quail, cormorant, woodcock, buzzard, eagle owl, woodpecker, blackbird, stork, magpie, goldfinch and the passerines generally. The mammals are red deer, roe deer, fox, pine marten, wolf, jackal, squirrel, hedgehog, hare and mole, and there are tortoises as well.
In the coastal waters are red mullet, horse mackerel, grey mullet, bonito and thornback ray; the freshwater fish are trout, carp, chub and eel.
