The valley lies on the skirts of Cilo, about 45 kilometres from the centre of Hakkari and at some 3,500 metres, and its name comes from what it holds side by side: permanent glaciers in one part, and in another wide ground covered with flowers depending on the season.
Being able to see such different climatic conditions at the same time is what makes the area matter for nature tourism, and walkers, mountaineers and rock climbers use it. The source gives no advice on when in the year it can be reached.
