Çatal Sedir is the tallest of Burdur's three protected cedars at 34 metres, and also the slenderest, with a trunk 1.40 metres across and a girth of 4.50 metres. Its age is given as 250 years, the same as the Evciler cedar, which reaches only 27 metres.
It was registered earlier than the other two, on 29 September 1994, and its protected ground is larger at 0.25 hectares. Its page names the species only as cedar, without the scientific name the other pages carry, and it does not explain the name Çatal, which means forked; nothing on the page says whether the trunk divides.
The tree grows within mixed black pine and cedar forest at the Kurudere locality in Asmabağ village, Altınyayla district. The wildlife list on the page is the general one shared with Burdur's other monument cedars.
Stated capacity is 500 visitors, with hours of 08:00 to 18:00.
