The Bürüngüz Mosque is a modern building, not a historic one: it was put up in 1977 by Refik Bürüngüz on the site of a demolished two-doored masjid.
It stands on a commanding position on Cumhuriyet Meydanı in Kayseri, and with its large dome, its glasswork and the decoration of that dome it is built in the classical Ottoman manner.
