Belen Geçidi Nature Park lies in the Belen district of Hatay and covers forty-five hectares. It is five kilometres from Belen, fifteen from İskenderun and fifty from Antakya.
Most of the area is Calabrian pine forest. The undergrowth is very thin in some places and well developed in others; kermes oak, terebinth, green olive tree and Greek strawberry tree are the characteristic species.
The resident and wintering birds are the raven, carrion crow, rock nuthatch, greenfinch, coal tit, great tit, chaffinch, goldfinch, crested lark, masked shrike and blackbird. The migration of buzzard, kestrel, lesser spotted eagle, crane and stork has also been observed here.
One of the most important bird migration routes in the western Palaearctic passes over the Belen pass, and for that reason the area is among the best known and most watched sites both in Türkiye and abroad.
