Three mosques stand within a short walk of one another in the city — Çapanoğlu, Cevahir Ali Efendi and Başçavuşzade. They are one stop on foot, not several, and the Yozgat Museum and the Üçtepeler nature park are also in reach of the town.
Akdağmadeni, at the eastern end, has the church and the Muşalı castle; the Çekerek martyrs monument is north of it, and the tomb of Gedikhasanlı Şakir Efendi is at Sorgun.
