Our compilation for Kars, not an official route, and the ordering breaks apart exactly where it matters. Ani, the ruined medieval city on the Armenian border, is the reason most people come — and its main record has no coordinates in our inventory, so it sits unplaced while its component parts are scattered through the grouping.
Those parts are the city walls, the church of Aziz Prkich and the Silk Road bridge, all within a few hundred metres of one another at Ani, about 45 kilometres east of Kars. Treat them as one place.
In the city itself, the Gazi Ahmet Muhtar Paşa mansion is the only placed stop. Four more have no coordinates and close the list: the Soğuksu nature park, the Caucasus Front war history museum, and two museum records — Kars Museum and the Kars Archaeology and Ethnography Museum — that may well be the same institution entered twice. We have not merged them.
Kars also holds the Sarıkamış-Allahuekber Mountains national park, which is not on this route but has its own page. What each place is, and who says so, is on its own page.
