Our compilation for a single day in İstanbul, not an official route. It is drawn from the same İstanbul pool as the longer routes in this guide and ranked by the same measured criteria, so what it carries is the top of that list rather than a different idea of the city.
Topkapı Sarayı and Ayasofya anchor it in the old quarter and stand a few hundred metres apart; Dolmabahçe Sarayı is on the Bosphorus shore to the north-east. Taken in that order the day runs one way rather than doubling back.
A day of this shape leaves out far more than it includes, and the province route for İstanbul and the Sultanahmet route in this guide both carry more of it. No driving or ferry times are given anywhere here. What each place is, when it was last checked, and which source says so is on its own page.
