Our compilation for Bodrum, not an official itinerary. Everything on it stands in the old town, and the reason is measurable: the whole group fits inside a square roughly a kilometre and a half across, so moving from one stop to the next is a matter of streets rather than transport.
The ancient theatre is the highest point, on the slope above the town; the site of the Mausoleum lies just below it. From there the ground falls to the harbour, where the castle — now the underwater archaeology museum — stands on its own promontory between the two bays.
The eastern end of the group is different in character: the remains at Myndos and the house museum of Zeki Müren belong to two very different centuries, and both are places to walk into rather than monuments to look at from outside.
No walking or driving times are given anywhere in this guide, because we have no road data and a straight-line distance is not a walking time.
