Zinav Gölü was made by a landslide: the slip on the eastern slope of the Zinav stream closed the valley, and the water that gathered behind the barrier formed the lake. The name is related to come from a wealthy man who lived in the district a few centuries ago.
The nature park around it covers 401 hectares in the Reşadiye district of Tokat and was declared on 11 July 2011. It is 17.4 kilometres from Reşadiye and 70.4 from Tokat; take the Aybastı-Reşadiye road from Reşadiye through the villages of Güvendik and Yolüstü, then carry on north-west through Yolüstü. It is open 08:00 to 17:00, with capacity for 100 visitors and 124 vehicles.
