Tillo Nature Park occupies a valley slope in Tillo district of Siirt, about 1.5 kilometres from the district centre and 9 kilometres from Siirt city. It was declared a nature park by ministerial approval dated 29 August 2014 and numbered 18031414-401-1440. The area is given as 40.15 hectares in the park record and 40.14 hectares in the accompanying text. All of it is state land, managed by the Siirt provincial branch of the 14th Regional Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks.
The directorate lists two draws besides the view down the valley: the light phenomenon associated with Tillo, and the area's suitability for faith tourism. It does not explain the phenomenon further. Walking, cycling, picnicking and sport are the activities named. Most of the year's rain falls in winter and spring, July and August are hot and dry, and the directorate identifies June to September as the period when the park is most usable.
The vegetation is cold-hardy deciduous oak that human use has thinned. Where the canopy has opened or disappeared entirely, mountain steppe has taken its place, and heavy grazing has left anthropogenic steppe with only scattered oaks standing. Survey work combined with the existing literature recorded 29 seed-plant taxa from 29 genera in 18 families, and 14 mammal species within the park's ecological boundary.
Facilities are those of a managed day-use park: car park, drinking fountain, a country restaurant and a country coffee house with ten tables each, a prayer room, arbours, a children's play area, a picnic ground, toilets, a viewing terrace and a walking path. The local produce units and the kiosk are listed as closed. There is one entrance control point at the southern edge and two car parks in the day-use area. Opening hours are 08:00 to 22:00, with a capacity of 375 visitors and 125 vehicles. Next to the park, but outside it, Tillo Municipality runs a glass viewing terrace and a picnic area at Kaletul Ustat hill; the directorate notes these are listed for information only and are not its responsibility.
