The mosque stands at the corner of Çamlık Caddesi and Seyfi Ağa Caddesi in the Tekke quarter. It has no foundation inscription. Between two windows of the porch is written a date corresponding to 1899–1900, which is probably when it was repaired rather than built, because an endowment deed for the mosque survives dated 14 January 1842. Two gravestones in the burial ground that surrounds the building on all sides but the north are older than that deed, the earliest of them from 1846 — clear evidence that the mosque was standing before the endowment was made.
The prayer hall is a rectangle close to square with a flat ceiling. On the south, on the axis, is a mihrab with a half-cylindrical body, and beside it to the west a wooden minbar, very plain. The preacher's chair on the east is a simple structure on slender wooden columns. On the north there is a gallery whose front projects northward like a balcony, reached by a stair inside the room next to the entrance at the north-east corner of the porch.
Light comes from one lower window each in the east and west walls and two each in the south and north, with a small upper window above each of the lower ones on the south front only. There is no ornament inside or out. The way into the prayer hall is a door on the north–south axis with a round arch and profiled sides. A minaret on a square base with a round shaft stands at the north-west corner of the hall, entered from a door at the north-west corner of the porch.
The porch for latecomers is very small and on two levels, closed at the sides by the extended walls of the prayer hall and glazed across the lower front; a thin wall was added later to divide it in two and make a room of the east side. Because the building sits on sloping ground the porch is well above the ground, reached by stairs of five to ten steps from either side. A small burial enclosure lies in front of it and to its east, and a wall runs around the mosque. The roof is hipped, covered in channelled tile with wide eaves, and the building is plastered.
