Taşköprü Yaylası lies within the village of Dumanlı in the sub-district of Yağmurdere, about fifty kilometres from the centre of Gümüşhane. It is reached along the Gümüşhane–Yağmurdere road; of those fifty kilometres roughly forty are asphalt and the remaining ten gravel.
The pasture is open to day visitors and well supplied with places to eat and drink. On it are trout farms, shops, butchers, coffee houses, bakeries, restaurants, greengrocers, tea gardens, a post office, a mosque, a car park, a filling station, a football pitch and a garage.
Within its bounds are slopes that could serve as runs for skiing on grass and on snow. The natural beauty of the pasture and the country around it, together with its historic remains and its rich plant and animal life, make it well suited to photographic and video safaris and to botanical tourism.
