The pasture is reached by turning south off the Gümüşhane–Torul road at its fifteenth kilometre onto the Şiran road and going on through the villages of Hasköy and Gülaçar: forty kilometres of asphalt and then twelve of dirt road, by your own car or a hired one.
On the way, six kilometres short of the pasture, the settlement of Altıntaşlar has electricity, telephone service and lavatories. There are plenty of trout in the Altıntaşlar stream.
Altıntaşlar Yaylası, where that stream rises, lies at the tree line, and gold is said to have been mined here in the past.
Çampiknik and Sultanmurat are among the other important pastures of Gümüşhane.
