Uzun Çarşı is among the oldest and most established of the markets Adapazarı kept from the Ottoman period, and it still works as the city's main commercial centre.
The provincial directorate records who ran it. Armenians and Greeks were the market's first founders; most of the older tradespeople there afterwards were immigrants from Bulgaria, Bosnia, Albania and Romania.
Şemsiyeli Park and three mosques — the historic Orhan, the Ağa and the Orta — stand around it. The approach is on asphalt road and it can be visited in any season.
