The Orta Cami was built in 1752. It stands within the Uzunçarşı, between the rice market and the Aynalı Kavak market.
Square in plan and of two storeys, it is covered by a hipped roof laid with tiles. In its technique the building is masonry, but the outer walls are faced with wood. It has a single minaret.
The upper floor, which is open for worship, reflects the mosque's original state. It also has a mezzanine, used as the women's gallery. In the prayer hall the muezzin's platform, the mihrab and the wooden ceiling with its ornament are all as they were.
On the ground floor, in the part used as shops, there is an ablution fountain now left standing among them; it was built together with the mosque.
The road is asphalt and the mosque can be reached in any season.
