The Sorkun waterfalls are a natural monument of 50 hectares in the Gerze district of Sinop, declared on 7 August 2017. The site runs along the Sorkun stream inside its canyon for about 2.3 kilometres, taking in the steep valley sides and the valley floor, oriented north-east to south-west.
Along those 2,300 metres are fifteen waterfalls, large and small, and walking the valley from one end to the other is how they are seen; the walks organised here are informal rather than run as a facility.
The Dereli neighbourhood of Karlı village lies to the north and the Kütükoğlu neighbourhood of Sorkun village to the south, and an unsurfaced road forms the eastern boundary.
