Perşembe yayla lies at about 1,500 metres in Ordu province and was declared a tourism centre by council of ministers decision in 1991. What distinguishes it are the meanders of its stream, which the provincial directorate describes as without parallel on this continent; registration proceedings to protect them as world heritage are said to be at their final stage.
The yayla festival is held every July, with competitions, folk dancing, concerts, wrestling matches, horse races and other social and cultural events. Most of the road up is asphalt and the rest is graded. It suits picnicking, safari and paragliding, and there are natural features and historic sites on the pasture itself — the tomb towers, the Ciseli waterfall and Karga Tepesi among them. Note a discrepancy in the official listing: the description places the yayla seventeen kilometres from Aybastı, while the travel information on the same page gives twelve kilometres from Akkuş, which is 125 kilometres from Ordu.
