The Örümcek Forest nature conservation area lies within the village of Yeşilköy in the Kürtün district of Gümüşhane and spreads over 2,630 hectares. The forest was taken under protection in 1998, and there are eight natural monuments within the area.
Oriental spruce and Caucasian fir dominate the woodland, and the forest holds the tallest spruce and fir trees in Europe and the Caucasus. Because of the height, density and positions of these trees, many people liken the forest to a labyrinth. Green, yellow and red are the colours most often seen in the trees, and besides them there are a number of waterfalls in the Örümcek Forest.
The forest is sixty kilometres from the city of Gümüşhane and eleven from the district centre of Kürtün.
