Nene Hatun Historical National Park covers 387 hectares on the heights above Erzurum, four kilometres from the city centre, and was declared on 18 May 2009. What stands on the ground, according to the directorate, is the Nene Hatun cemetery, the Aziziye redoubts numbered one to three and the Mecidiye redoubt, along with emplacements and trenches, monuments and symbolic memorial cemeteries. The page gives no dates or history for any of them.
The area has been landscaped and afforested. The directorate notes a deliberate restriction: no new vehicle roads are to be opened inside the park's boundaries, and the access arrangements were designed around the area's heavy use for cultural tourism.
The capacity figures on the page are hard to credit for a site this size — 95,000 visitors and 67,721 vehicles — but they are what the record gives. Opening hours are 08:00 to 18:00.
One line differs from the directorate's other park pages, which disclaim responsibility for accidents: here it states that the concessionaire is responsible for safety of life and property. Access is by road, on an asphalt turning off the Kars-Erzincan state highway.
