The Karatepe-Kızyusuflu village development cooperative is in the Sariduz quarter of the Kadirli district, 26 kilometres from Osmaniye, and the rugs woven here are called Karatepe kilims. They are the work of village women, made in the place they belong to, and they matter because the traditional motifs are worked and kept alive in them.
The dyes are all natural: madder, and colours drawn from walnut, spurge, mustard, oak, boruk, devecik, oleander, poppy, mastic, hartlap and olive, along with pine bark and onion skin. Local food and drink can be tasted at the cooperative. It is reached by road.
