The İzmir city forest covers 1,226 hectares and lies four kilometres from the district centre. The source places it in the Bornova district, while our record holds it in Balçova.
Calabrian pine is the common tree. Barberry, green olive tree, juniper, plane, bay, heather, spruce, blue cypress, myrtle, Türkiye oak, creeping juniper and oleander also grow here.
Among the animals living in the forest are vulture, sparrowhawk, rock partridge, falcon, boar, eagle, chukar, marten, squirrel, hare and fox.
For visitors there is a viewing tower, viewing terraces, toilets, children's playgrounds, a cycle path, a walking path and sports grounds.
