Three generations of one family lived in this house in the Bey quarter of Gaziantep, and that is what the museum inside it now sets out to show. Rooms are laid out as they would have been used, each furnished with the objects the region made for that purpose, and figures placed among them stand in for the household.
The house itself is worth the visit even without the displays: the cellar is cut into the bedrock, and three storeys rise above it. Nothing about it is unusual for old Antep — that is the point, since it carries all the features a house of this city was built with. It stands on Hanifioglu Sokak, in the old quarter.
