The building serves today as the district library, restored in 2008 with support from the Ministry.
It was built in 1905 by Abdülhamid II, together with the Hamidiye mosque: two storeys of red cut stone, the plans of the lower and upper floors the same, with an Ottoman coat of arms in marble on the lintel of the entrance. It is on Ertugrulgazi Caddesi in the centre of Sögüt.
