The building was put up in 1905 by Abdülhamid II, together with the Hamidiye mosque and the Hamidiye school, for the education of children orphaned in war.
The plans of its lower and upper floors are alike. It is allocated to the Ministry of National Education and was restored in 2008; the source does not say on what terms it can be seen. It is in the Sögüt district.
