Çubuk lake lies 11 kilometres north of Göynük, with the village of Çubuk on its shore and pine forest around it: 15 hectares in area and about 13 metres deep. Fishing with rod and line for its carp and trout is permitted, and the source describes both as very good eating.
The windmills standing around the lake are not old: they were built for a film shot here in earlier years, and have stayed as part of the setting.
