Gölya Tabiat Parkı lies on the bank of the Sakarya river, and the ponds inside it were formed by the river overflowing; the surrounding area was later protected and laid out as a picnic and recreation ground.
Inside there is a zoo, a cafeteria, a walking path, a playground and picnic areas, and bicycles can be hired to ride around it. The interior is closed to traffic. At 400 dönüm it is large enough, the provincial directorate says, to host a good many bird species.
The directorate states that entry is free, without giving a date for that. The approach is on asphalt road and the park can be visited in any season.
