Gölpinar was run as a B-type picnic ground until 2011, when its status was changed to nature park, and its boundary was widened by ministerial decision in August 2020. The source gives its size twice and differently: 464.6 hectares in the text after that enlargement, and 211.59 in the data field.
It takes its name from the village nearby, and it is run by two operators rather than one: the GB-1 and GB-2 use areas by one company and GB-3 by another. It is open 10:00 to 20:00, with capacity for 200 visitors, 50 vehicles and 50 tents.
