The mosque stands at the end of Talat Paşa Caddesi, which runs west out of Edirne, on the south-west side opposite the Gazi Mihal bridge. Its building inscription, dated 1421, is set on a rectangular stone panel above the portal on the north front.
It is built throughout of cut stone, with marble facing here and there on the walls. The stone doorway on the north takes the form of a deep niche; through it, on the north-south axis, you come first into a domed central hall and then, south of that, into the prayer hall proper, which is covered by a barrel vault. It is within walking distance in the city centre.
