Eğriova Tabiat Parkı covers about 30 hectares in the Beypazarı district of Ankara, at roughly 890 metres above sea level. The Eğriova plateau and its pond lie to the north, and Scots pine forest surrounds it on the south, east and west.
The Directorate is candid about the plant life: because the area is small and its habitats few, the flora is not especially rich. Survey has recorded 83 species and infraspecific taxa belonging to 38 families, among them the Ankara crocus, savin juniper, Armenian grape hyacinth, golden marguerite, primrose, spurge, buttercup, mullein and the red helleborine. Among the animals observed are tree frog, common toad, Trabzon lizard and Austrian snake, with grey heron, white stork, long-legged buzzard, kestrel, turtle dove, little owl, cuckoo, tawny owl, hoopoe, kingfisher, rock thrush, great grey shrike and bullfinch.
The day-use areas are set up for picnics. There are lavatories, a country restaurant, open-air event areas and camping ground with a kitchen and a rain shelter; concerts, country weddings, meetings and private functions are held in the event areas. Stated capacity is 150 visitors, 30 vehicles and 50 tents.
There are two ways from Ankara. The first runs via Beypazarı and Karaşar, 147 kilometres in all — 57 from Beypazarı and 19.7 from Karaşar — asphalt as far as Karaşar and unsurfaced from there to the park. The alternative, 140 kilometres, leaves the Ankara–Bolu motorway at the Çamlıdere exit for Pelitçik village, then follows village roads north-west to the Benli plateau and past the Eğriova pond.
