The museum holds material on every historical period of Beypazarı — models, remains, works particular to each period, and documents — and sets out to gather all the material bearing on the history of the district. It also keeps an archive for academic work.
The building is the Rüstem Paşa School, put up in 1928. It stood in the ownership of the provincial special administration, and the municipality of Beypazarı acquired it, laid it out as the Beypazarı Museum of City History and opened it to visitors.
By decision 96 of the Beypazarı municipal council, dated 4 November 2019, the museum was assigned to the Ankara metropolitan municipality for twenty-five years.
